BENEDICTION

This is a Solemnity that involves an ex¬position of the Blessed Sac¬rament for adoration by the faith¬ful.
In this Eucharistic ceremony the priest or deacon places the Blessed Sacrament in a monstrance which is exposed for some minutes: half an hour at most for the veneration of the faithful, followed by a Solemn blessing.

During Benediction, the assembly sings two  hymns of praise “O Salutaris Hostia,” written by Thomas Aquinas) and Tantum Ergo Sacramentum. A time of silent prayer follows. The service ends with a hymn of adoration—often part of the “Pange Lingua” by Aquinas—and then the Priest makes the Sign of the Cross over the people with the Blessed Sacrament. The recitation of the Divine Praises ends the ceremony.
It is an opportunity to Adore  our Lord Jesus Christ truly present in body and Soul as God and Man in the Monstrance radiant with Silver and Gold

PANGE LINGUA

 Down in adoration.

Sing, my tongue, the Savior's glory,
of his flesh the mystery sing;
of the Blood, all price exceeding,
shed by our immortal King,
destined, for the world's redemption,
from a noble womb to spring.

born for us on earth below,
He, as Man, with man conversing,
